Inside the book

Four parts, 14 chapters.

178 pages, from the idea to a 30-day build plan, plus templates, every checklist, a glossary and a technical appendix for builders.

PART ONE · The idea

  1. 01A chatbot is not a team. Chat made AI useful. It also quietly made you the glue holding every piece of work together. Here is what changes when you stop being the glue.
  2. 02The shape of an agentic OS. Six parts do the work and one holds them together. Once you can see the shape, every tool and product in this space becomes easier to judge.

PART TWO · Build the core

  1. 03Hiring your agents. An agent is a worker you have. A role is a job that needs doing. Keep the two apart and your system survives every change in the AI market.
  2. 04The board. Work that lives in a conversation dies with it. Work that lives on a board can be picked up, checked, split, retried and finished by whoever is best placed to do it.
  3. 05The approval gate. The gate is not a brake on the system. It is the reason you can let the system do everything else.
  4. 06Memory that compounds. A team that forgets everything each morning never gets better. The point of memory is not storage; it is making the right thing easy to find at the moment it is needed.
  5. 07Skills and tools. Tools are what an agent can do. Skills are how it knows the way you want it done. Both are permissions, and both are easier to add than to take away.
  6. 08Keeping it safe. An agentic OS holds your keys, your files and your accounts, and hands them to software that does what it is told. Safety is not one feature; it is a handful of boundaries, each of which has to be real.

PART THREE · Put it to work

  1. 09The SEO pipeline. From live Google data to reviewed articles waiting for your approval. The whole system on one real job, including the bugs that made it look finished before it was.
  2. 10The content studio. Scripts, posts, images, video, music, even small games. The same system makes all of it, and every piece still stops at the gate before it meets an audience.
  3. 11Voice and the daily briefing. Talking to your system is the most natural interface there is, and the least forgiving. Here is how to make it useful, fast enough, and honest about where your voice goes.
  4. 12Mission control. The screen you open first should answer one question, what do I do next, and every number on it should be something the system actually measured.

PART FOUR · Your turn

  1. 13Your first 30 days. An hour a day for a month. One board, one pipeline, one gate, one record, and by the end, a small team of agents doing real work that you approve.
  2. 14The operator's rules. Every rule in this chapter was paid for by a failure. Together they are the short answer to "how do I trust a system that works while I'm not watching?"

Why this book

Written from a system that actually runs.

01 / Real

One working system, start to finish

Every chapter uses Devian OS, the agentic operating system I built and run, as its example. Where it cannot do something, the book says so.

02 / Honest

The failures left in

Field notes throughout tell what broke, what it looked like when it broke, and the rule that came out of it. No invented numbers anywhere.

03 / Practical

Templates and a 30-day plan

Cards, role cards, skills, memory notes, reviewer instructions and a day-by-day plan, with a no-code track and a builder track.

Who it's for

Owners who want the work to move, and builders who want it to hold.

If you have used AI assistants and you are tired of being the glue between them, this is for you. If you want a system that makes money on autopilot with no involvement from you, it is not.

  • Owners and operators who want repeatable work done by AI agents, with nothing reaching a customer until they approve it.
  • Builders who have wired an agent to a tool and now face what comes after the demo: false successes, broken formats, noisy memory, unknown costs.
  • Agencies and consultants who want to run client work through agents without losing control of what goes out in the client's name.

About the author

Hi, I'm Devian.

I'm an AI automation and SEO consultant, and I run my own work on the agentic OS this book describes.

I wrote the book I needed when I started building with AI agents: not hype and not a framework manual, but a practical account of how you put agents to work across a business and stay in charge of what goes out with your name on it.
